The villagers of Wan Jiazhuang and those of Shahe Zhen live on the water of the same river. In the fight for the water, their enmity toward each other rise. In order to solve the disputes, Zhao Shijun, a young man of Shahe Zhen, who is adept with both pen and boxing, decides to marry the daughter of the enemy and buries his love for another girl named Shen Xinci.
