Story :

Based on true story

Soon after meeting and falling in love with salaryman Taro (Eita), bubbly 23-year-old Chie (Eikura Nana) is diagnosed with breast cancer. She tries to keep her illness a secret, but her condition worsens. She leaves Taro when she learns she has to undergo a mastectomy, but he determinedly searches for her. Touched by his love, Chie vows to fight the disease, but time is not on her side. When Taro and Chie find out that she only has a month's time left, they choose to live life to the fullest, making the final walk to the altar together.

April Bride มีต้นกำเนิดมาจากรายงานข่าวสองคอลัมน์ที่ออกอากาศทางเครือข่ายสถานีโทรทัศน์ทีบีเอสในเดือนเมษายน 2007 เป็นเรื่องราวของชีเอะ นากาชิม่า หญิงสาววัย 24 ปีที่เป็นโรคมะเร็งระยะเริ่มแรก เรื่องดังกล่าวนำไปสู่การจัดทำสารคดีความยาวสองชั่วโมงที่ออกฉายในช่วงไพรม์ไทม์ในเดือนสิงหาคม และนำไปสู่การจัดพิมพ์หนังสือเรื่องเดียวกันออกจำหน่ายกว่า 45,000 ฉบับ

ชีเอะ นากาชิม่า ได้เชิญให้ทีมถ่ายทำสารคดีทางทีวีเข้ามาในห้องผู้ป่วยที่โรงพยาบาล และได้เผยให้รู้ว่ามะเร็งเต้านมสามารถเกิดขึ้นได้กับหญิงสาวที่ยังเยาว์วัย “ความจริงที่ว่า วันพรุ่งนี้มาถึง เป็นเรื่องน่าอัศจรรย์” เธอใช้เวลาใคร่ครวญโดยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเธอกับแฟนหนุ่มก่อนที่เธอจะตรวจพบโรคร้ายและเสียชีวิตในที่สุด ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับความรักของทั้งคู่
